Create a virtual NIC from the ixgbe device.

Arguments

  • nic_id: the ixgbe NIC we will take receive and transmit queue from.
  • ip_addresses: set of ip addresses that will be assigned to the allocated receive queues. The number of ip addresses is equal to the number of queue pairs that will be assigned to the vNIC. Packets with the destination ip addresses specified here will be routed to the vNIC’s queues.
  • default_rx_queue: the queue that will be polled for packets when no other queue is specified.
  • default_tx_queue: the queue that packets will be sent on when no other queue is specified.
